Devon, PA - Greta Field of Kingston, NY died Sunday, June 13, 2004, following complications from surgery. She was 90. She was born May 3, 1914 in Vienna, Austria, a daughter of the late Phillip and Clara Morgenstern Leeds. She settled in Kingston in 1914 where she met and married Arthur Field. Arthur died in 1976. Greta was a long time member of Temple Emanuel. During her active years, she participated in Temple Emanuel Sisterhood, Hadassah and charitable activities. She was also a part-time salesperson with London's Department Store where her husband as the Men's Store Manager. She is survived by a daughter, Linda of Pennsylvania, a son Henry of California, a grandson, Bill of California, two brothers, Walter Leeds of Florida and Meir Meiri of Israel. Several nephews and nieces also survive. Two brothers, John and Freed Leeds died previously. A graveside service will be held Wednesday at 12:00 noon in Montrepose Cemetery. Rabbi Yael Romer of Temple Emanuel will officiate. Memorial contributions may be directed to a charity of one's choice.
