Gloria Jean Rich

August 24, 1932 — April 9, 2021

Gloria Rich, 88, of Kingston, NY, passed away Friday, April 9, 2021 at the Ivy Lodge in Saugerties, NY. She was born August 24, 1932 in Buffalo, NY daughter of the late Anthony and Theresa (Baudo) Rich.

She was a graduate of Kingston High School, class of 1950 and then St. Luke's Hospital School of Nursing. She was a staff nurse at UC Health Department, head nurse at Kingston Hospital, and had also been employed at Coney Island Hospital and the Brooklyn VA Hospital.

Gloria was a member of the Woodstock Riding Club, Benedictine Hospital Auxiliary, and the YMCA in Kingston. She was a volunteer reading tutor at Meagher Elementary School and Ulster Literacy Association. She also volunteered at the Queens Galley in Kingston.
She was never afraid to stop learning; in her sixty's she learned to speak Italian and to the play the piano. In her free time she enjoyed painting, and watching the NY Yankees. She was a huge supporter of President Barack Obama.

She is survived by her sister, Carolyn Wojciehowski and her husband Leo of Hurley, her brother, Anthony J. Rich, Jr., of Chandler, AZ, her nieces, Christina Lucius and her husband Damien of Uxbridge, MA, and Diana Donaldson and her husband Christopher of Ballston Spa, NY, her nephew, David Rich of Arizona, her grand nephews, Henry Lucius and Camden Donaldson, and her grand nieces, Michaela Lucius and Kirsten Staccio.

The family would like to extend a very special thank you to Mike Sarigianis and Stephanie Stade for all their help over the last year and a half, as well as the Ivy Lodge and Hudson Valley Hospice for the wonderful care they provided.

Arrangements entrusted to Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, Kingston, NY. A graveside service will be held at 11am on Thursday, April 22, 2021 at St. Mary's Cemetery, 322 Foxhall Avenue, Kingston, NY 12401.
