Gisela Brink

Gisela (Forst) Brink, 88, of The Town of Ulster, NY, passed away on Friday September 1, 2023 at The Pines in Glens Falls, NY. She was born May 14, 1935 in Bad-Kreuznach, Germany to the late Ernst and Katherina (Lauer) Forst. She was married to her best friend, the late Joel B. Brink, they wed on December 12, 1954 in Kingston. Joel passed away on March 17, 2022.

Gisela spent her early years in Germany before moving to the United States where she graduated from Kingston High School, Class of 1953. She worked for 10 years for NY Telephone Co. and later worked for the Kingston City School District and Golden Hill Nursing Home where she also volunteered for over 26 years. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, visiting her childhood home in Germany, and spending time with her family and friends.  

She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Cohen and her husband Andre of Queensbury, NY, her grandson, Brandon Joel Cohen and his wife Miranda, a great granddaughter and two special babies, as well as her brother in law, David Brink and his wife Gloria of Lake Katrine and several nieces and nephews. She is pre deceased by her niece Susan Brink.

Entrusted to the care of Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Ave., Kingston, where friends and family may visit on Saturday September 23, 2023 from 10am to 12pm with the funeral service taking place at 12pm. Private inurnment to follow at Wiltwyck Cemetery.
