George F. Wells, Sr. passed away on Friday, September 26, 2025 after a long illness. Born on April 12, 1943 George was born to the late Kenneth and Hilda (Schoonmaker).
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Diana Wells (Davis), son George Wells, Jr. (Dorothy), Joseph Wells (Donna), Robert Wells (Marianne), and William Wells (Tori). George is predeceased by his siblings Kenneth (Butch), Morgan, Martin, Robert, Mary Jeanette and survived by Louise (Simpson). Also survived by his grandchildren George III, (Jennifer), Jessica, Kenneth, Michelle, Ashley, Alex, and Billie Rose and Great Grandchildren Cassandra, Shiloh, Kenneth, and John. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
George worked for Bekins Van Lines Moving Company for many years then went on to work for the Ulster County Social Services as a Maintenance Coordinator where he retired after twenty years. George loved being up in the Adirondacks camping with his family, being out in the boat, and fishing which he did until his health would no longer allow it. He was also a big part of the Boy Scouts with his sons for many years along with being a member of REACT CB Radio under the handle of Captain Hook.
Arrangements entrusted to Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, Inc., 326 Albany Avenue, Kingston, NY 12401, where family and friends may visit on Thursday, October 2, 2025 from 2pm-4pm with the funeral service taking place at 4pm. In lieu of flowers the family asks that a donation be made to your local Humane Society in memory of their dog Happy.
