George V. Carpouzis

December 14, 1932 — March 12, 2018

George V Carpouzis, 85, of Kingston, passed unexpectedly Monday, March 12, 2018 at Westchester Medical Center, Mt. Pleasant, NY. He was born December 14, 1932 in Kingston, the son of the late Vlassios and Christina Stamate Carpouzis.

He was a graduate of Kingston High School and had attended Hartwick College and Iona. George served in the US Marine Corps during the Korean War. For many years he worked for local Kingston restaurants. He loved boxing and following the "fight game" and was a good basketball player. Well known in the community, he was always willing to lend a hand to the needy whenever and wherever he could. George also had a fond love of pets, especially his dogs.

He is survived by his brother Arthur Carpouzis, a sister Effie Uhl and her husband Albert, and nephews Eric Carpouzis, Christopher Uhl and a goddaughter Jean Brown.

Entrusted to the care of Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service. Friends may visit on Saturday from 11 - 12, the service will be at 12:00 noon. Burial in New Paltz Rural Cemetery, with military honors. Please leave a condolence for the family at www.KeyserCarr.com .
