Gary Louis Port, 71, of Woodstock, NY, passed away on Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at home. He was born February 28, 1947 in Kingston, NY the son of the late Louis George Port and Phyllis Henriksen Port.
He was a graduate of Onteora High School, class of 1965, and SUNY Maritime, class of 1969 where he received his Bachelors of Engineering. Gary owned and operated Forget-Me-Not Landscaping for many years. He also worked as a Mechanical Engineer for various companies, most recently, Fala Technologies in Kingston. Gary enjoyed downhill skiing and was a member of the Belleayre Ski Patrol for many years. He was an avid golfer, and NY Yankees, NY Giants, and NJ Devils fan. He enjoyed fishing, especially on the Ashokan Reservoir and boating on the Hudson River.
He is survived by his children, Jessica Port of Hoboken, NJ, and Jared Port and his wife Alyson of Middlebury, CT, his grandchildren, Eva Falco and Eden Falco, his siblings, Jeanne Reynolds and her husband James of Kingston, Jeffrey Port and his wife Pamela Kellaway of Longbow Lake, Ontario, Canada, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Arrangements entrusted to the care of Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Ave., Kingston, NY 12401, where family and friends may visit on Wednesday January 2, 2019 from 3pm to 6pm. It was Gary's wish that his life be celebrated joyfully. He asked that all who attend, if possible, please dress in your favorite Hawaiian or colorful shirt.
