Esther Keizer

Esther L. Keizer 98, of Springfield, VT, formerly of Kingston, NY passed away on Sunday morning October 15, 2017 at the Springfield Health & Rehab Center in Springfield. She was born May 20, 1919 in Kingston, the daughter of Charles and Augusta (Schulden) Henion. She attended schools in Kingston. On January 28, 1940 she married Peter P. Keizer in Kingston. He predeceased her on March 17, 2000. She was employed as a Seamstress with Halpern Manufacturing Company for 44 years, retiring in 1981. She loved bowling and dancing and enjoyed entertaining her family and friends. She enjoyed life.

Esther was a long time resident of Kingston moving to Springfield in 2000 to live with her daughter JoAnn. She is survived by her daughter JoAnn McKenney and her husband Gary of Springfield, 3 grandchildren, Thomas McKenney, Kimberly Keizer, and Shawn Keizer, 1 great grandson Devon McKenney. Also by many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Peter Sr., her son Peter P. Keizer Jr., 4 brothers - Charles Henion Jr., Alfred Henion Sr., Harold Henion, and John Henion and by 3 sisters - Theresa Castiglione, Alice Hoyt, and Dorothy McElarth.

Entrusted to the care of Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 216 Broadway, Port Ewen, NY 12466, where family and friends may visit on Thursday October 19 from 4pm to 7pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am on Friday October 20 at Presentation RC Church in Port Ewen. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Kingston. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, P.O. Box 96011 Washington, D.C. 20090-6011, or to the Springfield Health & Rehab.
