Ellen Fraenkel

June 6, 1954 — January 1, 2024

Ellen Jean (Hauck) Fraenkel was a caring wife, sister, aunt, and friend. Ellen left this world on January 1, 2024, surrounded by family, after a three year battle with cancer. Throughout her battle, she demonstrated how tough a Swede she was. Her family will continue her legacy by living their lives to the fullest. Her husband Gerry was at her side and her source of strength throughout her battle. They spent 33 years of love and marriage together, traveling and hosting family events.

Ellen served as an example of how to live a life of purpose through her giving and guiding spirit.  Learning her lessons of love, strength and family values from her parents Ken and Freda Hauck, Ellen served as the family matriarch and treasured counsellor following the passing of her mother.  Her memory will live on in her surviving siblings Mel and his wife Betsy Hauck of Fryeburg, ME; Les and his wife Diane Hauck of Parkland, FL; Lars and his wife Eileen Hauck of Clayton, NY; Hal and his wife Kathy Hauck of Kingston, NY; Linnea and her husband Rob Korotitsch of Schenectady, NY; Anthony and his wife Debbie Fraenkel of Rhinebeck, NY and many nieces and nephews.

Ellen found her professional fulfillment at the Center for Spectrum Services where she formed deep personal and professional relationships over many years of dedicated service until her retirement.

Friends are welcome to join family at Guido's Little Italy, in Kingston, from 2 - 4pm Saturday, January 6 for the celebration of a life well lived.

In lieu of flowers please honor her memory by considering a donation to The Center for Spectrum Services https://centerforspectrumservices.org/
