Elizabeth Amy Waugh

Elizabeth A. Waugh (Brower) of Lake Katrine formerly of Mamaroneck, NY and Darlington, MD, died Monday, August 26, 2019 at Ten Broeck Nursing Center in Lake Katrine, NY.

Born on March 4, 1927 in Mamaroneck, NY to the late Walter and Mary (Radcliffe) Brower. She married Herbert T. Waugh on September 10, 1954 at the Ridgefield Congregational Church in White Plains, NY.

Betty worked as a teachers aide and secretary at F.E. Bellows Elementary School in the Rye Neck School district in Mamaroneck, NY. She began as a volunteer and eventually became full-time. She watched many children pass through those halls and made many friends. In her spare time, Betty enjoyed knitting and crocheting. After retiring, she spent as much time as she could with her grandchildren.

Betty is survived by her two sons, Jeffery Waugh of Darlington, MD, David Waugh of Kingston, NY, her daughter Joanne and her husband Scott Dzibela of Lake Carmel, NY, four grandchildren, Brandon and his wife Brei Waugh Street, MD, Corey Waugh of Delta, PA, Ariana Dzibela and Scott Dzibela, Jr. both of Lake Carmel, NY, and two great granddaughters, Logan Waugh and Teagan Waugh of Street, MD.

In addition to her parents, Betty was predeceased by her husband, Herbert (bud) Waugh, her brother, Walter Brower, Jr. and her daughter-in-law, Debra Waugh.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, October 5th at St. Thomas' Episcopal Church, 168 W. Boston Post Road, Mamaroneck, NY 10543. Internment will be private,
