Edwin Harvey Sammons, Jr.

Edwin H. Sammons, Jr., 89, of Kingston, NY, formerly of Port Ewen, NY, passed away on Monday, April 27, 2026 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, NY. He was born on July 29, 1936 in Kingston, NY, son of the late Edwin and Janet (Rich) Sammons. He was married to the late Gay (Galbreth) Sammons, they wed on April 6, 1963. Gay passed away on May 30th, 2008.

He was a graduate of Kingston High School and later served in the Army during the Korean War. He was a Life Member of the Port Ewen Fire Department and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing golf.

Eddie is survived by his sons, Scott Sammons and his wife Jeanne of Port Ewen, and Eric Sammons and his partner Dana Woitasek of Port Ewen, his grandchildren, Tiffany Sammons, Susan Dallies, Christopher Gray, and Timothy Gray, as well as many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other family members. In addition to his parents, Eddie is predeceased by his brother, Peter Sammons.
