Douglas Wayne Ellsworth

Mar 22, 1950 — Sep 29, 2026

Douglas Ellsworth, 76, of St. Remy, passed away peacefully at home on Sept. 29, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Doug was born March 22, 1950, the son of George Sr and Emma (Barringer) Ellsworth. He was predeceased by the love of his life, his wife, Kit.

Doug proudly served in the United States Navy. He was a hardworking man and after several years at Callanan Industries, Doug ventured out on his own and started D&K Rock Services. He enjoyed many years of success. Doug was especially proud to work alongside his sons until his retirement.

Upon the heartbreaking loss of his wife, Kit, Doug began driving Uber to pass the time. This gave him a lot of funny stories to share, and we can't forget the friends he made along the way. Doug loved his grandchildren wholeheartedly. He never missed a school event, BMX race, dance recital, or birthday celebration. Being a grandfather was one of the greatest joys of his life.

Doug is survived by his sons, Todd Ellsworth and his wife, Jessica and John Ellsworth and his fiancé Lesette, grandchildren Deanna "Mimi" Ellsworth and Jack Ellsworth, a brother, Steven Ellsworth and his partner Diane of Florida and his sister Debbie Harding of Kingston. Along with many nieces & nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, Doug was predeceased by his brother, George Ellsworth, sister Nancy Williams and brother-in-law, Wayne Harding.

A Celebration of Doug's Life will be planned for a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to Hudson Valley Hospice in Doug's memory at www.hvhospice.org
