Donald Edward Moore, Sr.

Donald Edward Moore, Sr., 92, of Kingston, NY, passed away on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at Albany Medical Center in Albany, NY. He was born on October 26, 1933, in Poughkeepsie, NY, son of the late Frank and Ada (Hill) Moore.

He graduated from Poughkeepsie High School, then enlisted in the US Navy where he served during the Korean War. Upon returning he attended and graduated from Dutchess Community College.

Donald worked at IBM in Kingston for many years and later owned and operated his own business, “Don's Oil Burning Service”.

He was an avid fisherman, who enjoyed deep sea fishing with his family and friends. He also enjoyed camping, hiking, and hunting. Later in life Donald got into cycling and skiing, he was always looking for new hobbies to learn and better himself.

Donald was a great father, grandfather, great grandfather, protector, and friend. A true patriarch of the family. He was always available to lend a hand or an ear to anyone in need. He was known for his humor, if Donald was in the room there were people laughing in it with him. He was loved and respected by anyone that knew him.

Donald is survived by his children, Jack Moore of San Diego, CA, Michael Moore of Saugerties, and Melissa Moore of Kingston, his grandchildren, Christopher, Nicholas, Jennifer, Faith, Kristen, Mitchell, Makayla, Spencer and Chase Radell, his daughter-in-law, Camilla Moore, and his best friend and companion, Ella Moore. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and great grandchildren.

He is predeceased by his son, Donald Moore, Jr., and his siblings, Beatrice, Teresa, Mabel, Beverly, Frank, Jr., and Joyce.

Arrangements entrusted to Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service,326 Albany Avenue, Kingston, NY 12401, where family and friends may visit on Saturday, July 18, 2026, from 12pm to 2pm with the funeral service taking place at 2pm. Burial will take place at a later date.
