Dennis J. Herwig

Dennis Herwig, 69, a lifelong resident of Kingston, died Monday, January 13, 2014 at his home. Born in Kingston he was a son of the late Warren L. & Mildred Longto Herwig. Dennis was a graduate of Kingston High School, class of 1962 and received his bachelors degree from SUNY New Paltz. He was an xray technician with various hospitals in the Hudson Valley area, including Kingston Hospital and Benedictine Hospital. He was also a veteran of the US Army having served during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed motorcycling, woodworking and gardening. Dennis is survived by two brothers, Warren Herwig and his wife Joanne of Oshkosh, WI, Edward Herwig and his wife Susan of Kingston, a sister, Renaye Phillips and her husband Duane of Greeley, CO. Many nieces and nephews also survive. Reposing at the Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave on Monday, January 20, 2014 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 Noon. A funeral service will take place at noon at the funeral home with Deacon Joe Doherty from St. Joseph Church. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery
