David G. Brener, 82, of Hurley, NY, passed away on Monday, January 26, 2026 at home. He was born on December 27, 1943, in New York City, son of the late Joseph and Pauline (Golden) Brener. David was married to his loving wife of 43 years, Evelyn (Salzman) Brener. Evelyn passed away in 2009.
David served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He was a Graduate of the Columbia University College of Pharmacy, Class of 1966. To this day, he maintained an active friendship with many of his fellow classmates.
David was the Owner and Pharmacist at The Rosendale Pharmacy in Rosendale for many years. He was an active member of Congregation Ahavath Israel in Kingston where he served as an officer for many years and later served as Treasurer for the Ahavath Israel Cemetery Corporation. Above all he enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.
David is survived by his sons, Thomas Brener and his wife Inbal of New York City, and Craig Brener and his wife Alyson of Hurley, and his grandchildren, Felix Brener, Joseph Brener, Shira Brener, Eric Brener, and Abigail Brener.
In addition to his wife and parents, David is predeceased by his sister, Ann Honig, and his brother in law, Paul Honig.
Arrangements entrusted to Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Avenue, Kingston, NY 12401, where the funeral service will be held at 11am on Thursday, January 29, 2026. Burial will follow in Montrepose Cemetery, Kingston, NY. Memorial donations in memory of David can be made to a charity of your choice.
