Cheryl Joan "Beebs" Wert, 75, of Kingston, NY, passed away peacefully at home Wednesday, December 29, 2021 surrounded by family. She was born July 1, 1946 in Kingston, daughter of the late George and Joyce (Burhans) Wert.
She was a Kingston High School Graduate, Class of 1965, where she was a member of the Acapella Choir A.A., Dame Rumor, D.E.C.A., and Prisma. Cheryl worked as a sales representative for the Blair Corporation until she began employment with Orthmann's Sanitarium as a nurse's aide. Later she worked for the family business, WGB Oil Clarifier in Kingston.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Kingston where she taught Sunday School, sang in the choir, was a member of the Dorfelmians, and was an Ordained Deacon. She enjoyed cooking and baking, making fresh cookies every Saturday morning. She also loved embroidery and knitting. She enjoyed historical and mystery novels and was a fan of horror movies. She was a traveler, taking many trips to California, U.S. Virgins Island, and to her favorite destination, Hawai'i. In her later years she took on the role of the family caretaker.
Cheryl is survived by her sister, Sharen Wert-Bertholf and her husband Barry of Bloomington, her nephew, Jared Bertholf and his wife Erin of Bloomington, her great nephew, Levi, and her great niece, Ivy, as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Arrangements entrusted to Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, Kingston, NY. Private services and burial in Wiltwyck Cemetery will be held on Saturday January 8, 2022.
