Carolyn J. Kelbaugh

Carolyn "Cookie" Kelbaugh, 85, of West Hurley, NY, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at Mid Hudson Regional Hospital in Poughkeepsie, NY. She was born on December 26, 1940, in Oneida, NY, and was the daughter of the late Alton Brundege and Mary Day.

Cookie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and cherished friend. Those who knew Cookie will remember her for the quiet warmth she brought with her. She had a gentle, good-natured spirit and a way of making people feel comfortable simply by being herself.

She will be remembered for her warm personality, her generous heart, and the special place she held in the lives of those who knew and loved her.

Cookie is survived by her husband, Karl Kelbaugh; her sisters, Sonja (Jack) Moore, Jo Anne (Mike) Washington, and Helen (Morris) Hornbeck; and her brother, Carroll (Kathie) Brundege. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Jackie Kelbaugh; her grandchildren, Brandon, Jessica, Brittany, and Joshua Kelbaugh; and her dear special friends, Richard and Lisa DeRuvo, Jake DeRuvo, and Jeremy Sherman.

In addition to her parents, Cookie was preceded in death by her beloved son, Kevin Mark Kelbaugh.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, Inc., 326 Albany Avenue, Kingston, NY 12401. A private inurnment at Wiltwyck Cemetery will take place.
