Carol Hall (Moynihan) Bouyea, of Town of Ulster passed away on Sunday, October 1, 2023 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on August 12, 1933 in Hudson Falls, NY and was the daughter of the late Dr. Frank and Mary (Hall) Moynihan.
Carol was a graduate of Hudson Falls High School and Plattsburgh State Teachers College. Carol taught kindergarten in the Hicksville School District, Long Island, for 3 years. The reminder of her 35-year career was dedicated to teaching in Kingston Consolidated School District as a Kindergarten and a 2nd grade teacher at Chambers Elementary School.
Carol was a Parishioner and former choir member of St. Catherine Laboure Church, Lake Katrine and enjoyed participating in the services at Fair Street Reformed Church as well in recent years. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association, the NYS Retired Teachers Association and the American Federation of Teachers.
She is survived by her daughter, Colleen (Joseph) Bouyea-Essency of Kingston, NY, daughter-in-law, Teresa J. Bouyea of Kingston, NY, grandchildren, Christina (Wyatt) Smith of Saugerties, NY, Brian Bouyea of Accord, NY, Cheyenne (Cpl. Cole) Bouyea-Drake of Colorado Springs, CO and Brady Essency of Kingston, NY. Great grandchildren, Carter Aiden Bouyea-Neal, Jason Christopher Bouyea and Cole Marcus Allen Drake, Jr. As well as her sisters-in-law, Lenore (Robert) Wright, Mary (Lt. Col. Donald) Moynihan and special family friends, Jennifer Freer, Shirley & Steven Wright, Christian Neal and Sarah Smith as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Carol is preceded in death by her husband, Charles J. Bouyea, her son, Kevin C. Bouyea, her siblings, Charlotte (Charles) Triller, Joan (Wayne) Triller, Donald Moynihan and her brother-in-law, Robert Wright.
The family expresses their heartfelt gratitude to Hospice and the Healthcare teams at Health Alliance of Hudson Valley and Westchester Medical Center. A special thank you to Dr. Eli Dancour.
Arrangements entrusted to Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, Inc., 326 Albany Avenue, Kingston, NY 12401, where family and friends may visit on Thursday, October 5, 2023 from 4pm to 7pm. Family and friends may also visit on Friday, October 6, 2023 from 10am to 11am. A funeral service will take place at 11am followed by entombment at Wiltwyck Cemetery.
