Audrey M. Hutton

Ulster Park - Audrey M. Hutton formerly of Flushing and Kingston died Tuesday, January 8, 2013. She was 96. Audrey was born in Flushing NYC, one of twin daughters of the late Gerard Victor and Florence Emma Garrison Merrill. After her father died in the flu pandemic of 1918, her mother subsequently met and married Alex Ednie. Growing up in New York City, Audrey met Lester K. Hutton in elementary school. They became lifelong companions and married on February 7, 1942, later moving to a rural farm in Upstate New York, continuing to cherish each other for over 75 years. They delighted in raising a large family together, especially the long summer camping trips, driving as far as Alaska. Throughout her entire adult life, Audrey took pleasure from knitting and crocheting gifts for others. She greatly enjoyed her children and especially her grandchildren. For the last several years, Audrey who resided at the Hudson Valley Senior Residence, appreciated the companionship, friendship and repartee with other residents as well as the very supportive staff of the residence. Lester K. Hutton died May 21, 2003. Surviving are her daughter Audrey Adele Hutton of Ulster Park; four sons, Lester K. Hutton Jr. of Bedminster New Jersey; William Merrill Hutton of Hurley; Harry E. Hutton and his partner Carol B. Nemeth of Ulster Park; Robert David Hutton and his wife Ellen of Camas, WA. Six grandchildren, Alexandra Bridget Hutton, Bradley Joseph Hutton, William Merrill Hutton II, Kathleen Bennett Hutton, Benjamin Harvey Hutton and Cody Lester Hutton also survive. In addition to her husband, one daughter, Betty-Ann K. Hutton, one son, Gerard Hutton, her granddaughter, Sharon Elaine Hutton and Mrs. Hutton's twin sister, Dorothy Patrice Paige died previously. Entrusted to the care of Paul Geary of A. Carr & Son Funeral Home, 65 Lucas Ave., Kingston. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday from 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 PM. Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday at 10:00 AM. Rev. Robert Gram will officiate. Interment will follow in Montrepose Cemetery.
