Anne Hughes Dwyer

Anne Hughes Dwyer of Kingston, NY, died on Saturday July 4th, 2026. She was 94 years old. Anne was born in Kingston, a daughter of the late James A. and Mary Falvey Dwyer.

Anne graduated from the Academy of St. Ursula, Class of 1948; received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Marymount College, Class of 1952; and completed her studies for a Master of Science degree from SUNY in 1962.

Anne was an avid skier and world traveler, including sailing and cruising. She enjoyed classical music concerts and was a former member of the Junior League of Kingston.

Anne was predeceased by her two brothers, James F. Dwyer and his wife Elizabeth of Port Ewen; Peter J. Dwyer of Kingston and her three sisters, Elizabeth D. Ryan of Kingston, Margaret D. Abernethy of St Petersburg, Florida and her husband Charles, and Rosemary D. Gruner of Hurley, and three of her nieces.

Anne is survived by nineteen nieces and nephews and over forty grand nieces and nephews and a few great grand nieces and nephews as well as her brother in law Albert Gruner of Hurley. Anne remained mentally sharp as she aged, staying interested and informed on the lives of all her family members across the country.

Arrangements are entrusted to Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, Kingston, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30am on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at St. Joseph's RC Church, 242 Wall St., Kingston, NY 12401. Inurnment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Kingston.
