Anna L. McGinnis

Anna Louise Boice McGinnis, 91, of Kingston, New York, passed away December 30, 2022 at home surrounded by her loving family. The daughter of the late Myron and Elinor Shaw Boice, she was born Dec 9, 1931 in Lake Katrine. She is survived by her children William Maxwell (Janet) McGinnis; Shirley (Jim) Walker; Linda McGinnis; Jennifer Sikula; and Glenn McGinnis. She also leaves her sister, Shirley Ruth; grandchildren: Kelley (Matthew) Parsons; Kevin (Bethany) McGinnis; Eric, Ray (Hannah), Luke, Laura Walker; Stan (Natasha) Horbot; Sandy Horbot; Joshua Steward; and great-grandchildren; Emma and Luke Parsons; Lowell McGinnis; Chesney and Luke Walker II; Stan II and Jason Horbot; Jovelon and Carine Delcarmen, as well as many loving nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by brothers Lewis, Roger, Mike Boice and sisters Ida Bogert and Elinor Leedecke; and son-in-law Ken Sikula.

Anna graduated from Kingston High School in 1949 and attended Delhi Technical Institute. She was an employee of Kingston City Schools from 1982 to 2000. She was an active member of Fair Street Church, Coach House Players, Ladies Auxiliary of the Sawkill Fire Company and active in leadership of Boy Scouts, Girls Scouts and 4-H. Anna loved growing up on the family farm in Lake Katrine and helping with the farm chores, driving tractors, milking the cows and helping during haying season. Camping at North Lake, hiking, reading, bird watching, Broadway shows, singing in church choir and local choral group were among her favorite pastimes. She also loved her numerous pets. Anna always said her family and friends came first in her life.

Entrusted to the care of Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 216 Broadway, Port Ewen, NY 12466 where family and friends may visit on Friday January 6, 2023 from 1pm to 4pm. The memorial service will be held at 11am on Saturday January 7, 2023 at Fair Street Reformed Church, 209 Fair St., Kingston, NY 12401. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer’s Association and www.Alz.org, Hudson Valley Hospice at www.HVHospice.org or a charity of choice would be appreciated.
