Alberta Virginia Cozza

Alberta V. Cozza, 94, of Kingston, NY, passed away on Wednesday July 29, 2026, surrounded by her family.

She was born on December 6, 1931, in Kingston, daughter of the late Lawrence and Elizabeth (Schieblich) Petersen. She was married to the late, Ernest J. Cozza, Sr., they were married on February 10, 1952, at St. Mary's RC Church in Kingston. Ernest passed away on March 21, 2007.

Alberta was a graduate of Kingston High School and later worked at Hercules (now Dyno Nobel), Adams Fairacre Farms, and Walmart.

She was an active member of Fair Street Reformed Church and The Sawkill Senior Club for many years. In addition, Alberta was a well known for playing the accordion in the “Sano Sounds Band” and she enjoyed playing bingo and participating in local bowling leagues.

Alberta is survived by her children, Ernest Cozza, Jr. and his wife Tammy of Kingston, James and Sondra Cozza of Kingston, Cindy Hoffmann and her husband John of Kingston, and Angela Quick and her husband Scott of PA, her daughter in law, Cynthia Cozza of Kingston, her grandchildren, Floyd Rose, Ryan Cozza, Jared Cozza, Shannon Critelli and her husband Joseph, Heather Cozza, Michele Naccarato and her husband Christopher, James Cozza, Jr., Lia Cozza, Amanda Landerway, Kari Gilbert, and Kevin Quick, Jr. and his wife Alexi, her great grandchildren, Anthony, Juliana, Christopher, Seraphine, Gabriel, Genevieve, Addisyn, Skylar, Harley, as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, Alberta is predeceased by her son, Carmine Cozza, and her siblings, Richard Petersen, Marie Thomas, Dorothy Crantz, Elizabeth Smith, Robert Petersen, and Herbert Petersen, Raymond Petersen, Larry Petersen, Ernest Petersen, and Martin Petersen.

Arrangements entrusted to Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Avenue, Kingston, NY 12401, where family and friends may visit on Tuesday August 4, 2026, from 4pm to 7pm with the funeral service taking place at 7pm.
