Alan M. Gerstein, 68, of Accord, NY, died at his home on Friday, March 12, 2021.
Born in Ellenville, NY, he was the son of the late Isidore & Gertrude Cohen Gerstein.
Alan was the proud original owner of G & G Leather in Kingston, NY. He began his business selling leather apparel and pickle products at the indoor flea market. He was well known throughout the Hudson-Valley for his catchy jingle and quality leather products. Growing up he enjoyed spending his summers at his parents’ bungalow colony. As a young man, he enjoyed his years working as a waiter at The Nevele Hotel. In his free time, Alan enjoyed playing golf and was an avid poker player and Yankee fan.
Survived by his wife, Phyllis Klein of Accord, NY; stepdaughter, Jeanne Uldrich (Bill) of Windham, NY; stepdaughter, Brianne Valerio of Accord, NY; brother, Stuart Gerstein (Lori) of Clearwater, FL; grandchildren, Juliannah and Nathan Uldrich; nieces and nephews, Julie Gerstein (Evan Widhu), Melissa Gerstein (Malinda Rathnayake), Michael Gerstein, and Jeffery Kaden. He was predeceased by his sisters Judith Kaden and Eileen Previll.
Funeral services and interment will be held privately.
