Phyllis Silberman

Phyllis Silberman, formerly of Albany, died Tuesday, December 22, 2009 at Ten Broeck Commons Nursing Home. She was 94. She was born in Kingston, a daughter of the late Harris and Lenore Schoenberg Brown. A graduate of Kingston High School, Mrs. Brown previously lived on Stahlman Place, Town of Ulster. Mrs. Silberman worked with her husband, Roger Silberman, who owned and operated Roger's Shoe Store, North Front St., Kingston. An Albany resident for over 50 years, she worked for many years at Barbizon. Her husband Roger died in 1998; her son Richard Silberman died in 2008 and her twin sister, Coralie Kaplan died in 2008. Surviving are her niece Lynda Kaplan of Town of Ulster and one grandson, Robert Silberman. Graveside services will be conducted on Monday at 2:00 p.m. at Montrepose Cemetery, Kingston. Cantor Robert Cohen will officiate.
