Patrick A. Volpert of Tall Oaks Dr., Town of Ulster died Friday, June 18, 2004 at Kingston Hospital. He was 63.
He was born in Louisville, Kentucky on July 19, 1940, a son of the late Fred and Harriet Kresty Volpert.
He was raised in Louisville and graduated Trinity High School. He then attended Bellarmine College in Kentucky. Pat then served in the US Navy in the early 1960's.
After service he began work in research and development at I.B.M. in Louisville and Lexington, Kentucky. He was also assigned to the Kentucky govenment offices in Frankfort. In 1982 he moved to the Town of Ulster and transferred to Poughkeepsie, NY. A member of the Quarter Century Club, he retired in 2001.
Two brothers Fred and Harvey Volpert both died previously.
Surviving are his loving wife Grace Rudolph Volpert whom he married June 25, 1976; seven daughters, Barbara Volpert of Melbourne, Australia; Catherine Volpert Spencer and her husband Dennis of Frankfort, KY; Sherry Weber and her husband Morgan of Bagdad, KY; Deborah Reese and her husband Dean of Midway, KY; Lisa Rowe of Frankfort, KY; Pamela Deahl and her husband Edward Karabec of Scarborough, ME; and Valerie Deahl and her husband Jorge Hernandez of Newton, MA; five sons, Gregory Volpert and his wife Chong of Leominster, MA; Jeffery Volpert and his wife Melissa of Wake Forest, NC; Joshua Volpert of Kingston; Mark Deahl of Versailles, KY; and David Deahl and his wife Arlene of Kingston; one sister Edna Reinert of Lexington, KY. Thirteen grandchildren Stephanie Curtis, Austin, Eli, and Milo Spencer, Benjamin and Jessica Volpert, Miriam and Sarah Volpert, Bret and Chad Reese, Chelsea and Emily Rowe and Max Hernandez, great grandfather of Lola; many nieces and nephews also survive.
Reposing at Simpson – Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave., Kingston on Sunday 7-9 PM. The funeral will be Monday at the funeral home at 12:00 PM, Rev. Kevin Kraft will officiate.
