Mary Alice McGowan

Mary Alice McGowan of Harding Ave., Kingston died Friday, September 14, 2007 at Hudson Valley Hospital. She was 84. A native and lifelong Kingston resident, she was born May 30, 1923, a daughter of the late Charles and Sophie Cole. A parishioner of the Immaculate Conception Church, Mrs. McGowan belonged to the Altar - Rosary Society. Her husband John F. McGowan died January 31, 1972. One brother Charles Cole died previously. Surviving are one son Brian McGowan and his wife Lori of Catskill; two daughters Charlene McGowan of Kingston and Marlene McGowan Yedic and her husband Gusan of Yorktown Heights; one sister Joan Tresaloni of Poughkeepsie; one granddaughter Chelsea McGowan; several nieces and nephews. Reposing at Simpson - Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave. on Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral procession will be Wednesday at 9:15 AM from the funeral home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church at 10:00 AM. Interment will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Contributions in Mrs. McGowan's memory may be made to Immaculate Conception Church, 467 Delaware Ave., Kingston, NY 12401.
