Louis Martinez, Jr.

Louis Martinez, Jr. of Stephan St., Kingston died Friday, June 3, 2011. He was 62. He was born and raised in the Bronx. Louis married Elba Benitez on October 14, 1978. A Kingston area resident for many years, he previously worked for the City of Kingston Department of Public Works. Beloved husband of Elba Benitez - Martinez, loving father of Melissa Luz Martinez of Kingston, Erica Simpson of Kingston, and Christopher Louis Martinez of Kingston; loving son of Louis Martinez and Rose Martinez - Torres of Long Island, loving brother of Susan Iglesia of the Bronx; grandfather of Robert Monroe Medley III, Michael Louis Simpson and Armando Louis Medley; uncle of Mark and Ralph Iglesia and Susan Sanchez. A gathering of family and friends will take place on Thursday, June 9th from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. At 6:30 prayers will be offered. A memorial service will be conducted on Saturday, June 25th at 10:30 a.m. at Glad Tidings Assembly of God, 2 East VanCortland Ave., Bronx, NY 10468. Cremation was in Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery.
