John L. Casey

John L. Casey of Reservoir Rd. died Wednesday, April 12, 2006 at Ferncliff Nursing Home in Rhinebeck. He was 79. He was born March 25, 1927 in Amsterdam, a son of the late John L. and Marjorie Beckman Casey Sr. A photographer and printer in the Army Air Corps and later Air Force, he saw service during WW II, Korea and Viet Nam. He was a member of the Lamouree-Hacket Saugerties American Legion Post 72. Mr. Casey taught printing for the New York State Department of Corrections at the Greene Correctional Facility. He also was a substitute teacher at Saugerties H.S. Surviving is his wife, Dorothy Polin Casey whom he married November 29, 1958; three daughters, Marjorie Clark of Athens, Jacqueline Carey of Saratoga Springs and Nancy Maggiore of Marysville, WA; two sisters, Dorothy Smith of Ohio and Nancy Casey of Albuquerque, NM. Six grandchildren also survive. A grandson died previously. Cremation will take place in Wiltwyck Cemetery. Inurnment will be in the Gerald B. H. Solomon- Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville at a later date.
